To keep green issues uppermost in the mind of the community at large in Tameside.
To inform the public through events / articles in local newspapers, etc., about environmental issues and correspond with Tameside Council where action is required.
To work alongside, support and share information and best practice with other groups with similar aims and objectives.
To establish a 'Green Pages' – a directory for the Tameside area to include social enterprises, green businesses, allotment facilities, local food suppliers, etc.
To map, increase & improve the land, Green & Open Spaces and other environmental resources within Tameside.

Areas covered include: Ashton, Denton, Audenshaw, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Longdendale, Mossley, Stalybridge, and surrounding areas.
Speaker events are held throughout the year and are open to everyone.

Allotments – potential for growth?; Beekeeping; Biofuels; Permaculture;
Electoral Reform; Hydrogen Economy; Stamford Park restoration; The Mount Community Group (Stalybridge); End the Nuclear Nightmare; Sustainable Transport, Waste & Recycling and Fairtrade.
The Group formed early 2009 and we are very keen to increase our membership and encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to join with us so that we can carry out our objectives more effectively.
