The National Diploma in Computing at Hyde Clarendon has been exceptionally successful this year with fantastic achievement from all of their students. 90% of the class have achieved three or more grades higher than their expected grades and 75% of the students plan to study at university this year.
The National Diploma is a two year vocational course covering software development, systems analysis and design, web development, installing and upgrading computers and networks as well as graphics, databases and spreadsheets. The course is equivalent to 3 A-Levels.
Outstanding students completing the course this summer include Thomas Jackson, Matthew Simpson and Thomas Williams.
Thomas Jackson from Alder Community College has completed the course with three distinctions and plans to work in the computing industry once he gets his results. Matthew who attended Audenshaw High School, also achieved three distinctions and will be studying Law at university in September. Thomas Williams who is also from Audenshaw, not only got three distinctions but got the maximum marks possible achieving an astonishing 18 distinction grades out of 18 and plans to study Computing at university.
Course tutor, Paul Mather is very proud of his students for their dedication and hard work this year and would like to wish them the best of the luck for the future on behalf of the college.
