Apprentices in Tameside – You’re hired!

Tameside Council and businesses from across the borough and beyond will be searching for the futures bright stars at the Tameside Apprenticeship Fair 2010.
On Tuesday April 20, between 3.30-7.30pm businesses from in and around Tameside will flock to Ashton Town Hall to showcase their apprenticeship schemes to the borough’s 16-24 year olds.
Young people will be able to find out the apprenticeship opportunities on offer in Tameside as well as discussing job roles with employers, managers and current apprentices.
Apprentices have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and study for a NVQ level 2 relevant to their occupation, plus other technical certificates may also be available.
Tameside Council’s First Deputy Cllr Joe Kitchen said: “ We want to encourage young people to take up an apprentice, even in this tough social climate. The council is committed to apprenticeships; young people gain a useful qualification and become part of a team which makes a real difference to our communities."
Anyone unable to attend the open evening, is asked to complete an expression of interest form no later than 23rd April 2010.

Tameside Council, Tameside College, New Charter, Benchmark, Momo Pumps, JWD Engineering, Newland Engineering, Hyde Group, Balfour Beatty, Bespoke Interiors of Cheshire, Royal Navy, Bliss Lingerie, Army Careers and Academy of Hospitality Great Britain.
