Mossley 3 Bala Town 1
Date published: 27 July 2010
A late rally that saw Mossley score twice in the final three minutes was enough to see off the challenge of Welsh Premier side Bala Town in the latest Seel Park friendly match.
Mossley had opened the game at a good tempo and dominated the first half. The opening goal coming after just 12 minutes with an excellent looping volley by Chris Rowney from the left corner of the box.
The second half saw Bala step up the pace and the visitors looked a more formidable opponent for much of the half, fully deserving their equaliser in the 59th minute when Mike Thompson cut in from the right to beat Aaron Tyrer at his near post.
The game looked to be headed to a draw when Steve Moore rasped a screamer that was deflected just past the upright but Mossley regained the lead with three minutes left on the clock. Jordan Goodeve turning the ball home as Bala failed to clear their lines.
The win was secured in the final minute when Steve Moore weaved through the centre of the Bala defence to curl the ball beyond Vernon's despairing dive for a superb solo goal.
Team: Ryrer, Richardson, Hardy, Chalmers, Watson, Weston, Rowney, M.Kay, Fish, Oates, Brickhill. subs: G.Kay, Goodeve, Heap, Moore, Fletcher.
