Ricky Rocks Dukinfield for charity

Friday night (3/9/10), saw a special evening at Dukinfield Town Hall, when a rock and roll tribute night was put on in aid of the cancer charity MacMillan Nurses. The brainchild of local music shop owner (The Music Box, Hyde), Bill Drain, who wanted the evening to be a tribute to friends he has lost to the terrible disease, who included Barry Lomas and Roy Mitchell. Bill, who also played saxophone on the night, put together a great band on musicians to entertain the crowwho had d, come to support such a worthy cause. A great night was had by all, and the line dancing section, under the direction of Barry Lomas' daughter, Julie, was a great crowd pleaser. The event managed to raise £1600 for the charity, which is testament to Bill's devotion to the cause.
