Over 120 historic properties across Greater Manchester are opening their doors for free as part of Heritage Open Days this September and there over 36 events in Tameside for you explore and visit.
From a visit to the Tameside Local Studies and Archives Centre, Taunton Sunday School, Fairfield Moravian Settlement or a visit to Ryecroft Hall Family Fun Day, Heritage Open Days offer people the chance to explore fascinating historic buildings and places, many of which are normally closed to the public.
The events take place from Thursday to Sunday, 9 - 12 September and are run by an army of passionate volunteers and supported by English Heritage.
Patrick Burke, English Heritage Outreach Manager for the North West says: “There is a Heritage Open Day attraction around every corner, each with a compelling story to tell, and staffed by volunteers who are passionate about their buildings, neighbourhoods and heritage. The breadth of the properties opening this year is quite remarkable. There really is something for all ages.”
