Man dies in road traffic collision

A motorcyclist has died in a road traffic collision in Audenshaw.

At about 8.50pm last night, Saturday 28 August 2010, the victim was riding his Yamaha 600 bike along Corporation Road when it was in collision with a Vauxhall Zafira at the junction with Hopkinson Avenue.

The rider, believed to be a 36-year-old man, suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Zafira, a 61-year-old woman from Audenshaw, was uninjured. Formal identification has yet to take place.

Traffic officers are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
