Seven charged following drugs raids

Seven people have been charged as part of an operation to target the supply of illegal drugs in Tameside.

The following five people appeared before Tameside Magistrates Court on Friday 5 March 2010.

Marjorie Halpin (50) of Crawford Street, Ashton, was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Lee Broadhurst (22) of Midville Road, Clayton, was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Phillip Day (30) of Hilton Crescent, Ashton, was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Jason Fletcher (20) of King Street, Dukinfield, was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs and possession of cannabis.

Gordon Hewitt (34) of Market Street, Hyde, was charged with four counts of supplying class A drugs.

The following two people are due to appear before Tameside Magistrates on 17 March 2010.

Kenneth Fletcher (23) of Astley Street, Dukinfield, was charged with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Paul Taylor (31) of Assheton Close, Ashton, was charged with supplying class A drugs.

Three men, aged 20, 34 and 31, were bailed to dates in April and May 2010, pending further inquiries.

They were arrested in raids as part of an intelligence led operation, code named Operation Donnington.

Warrants were executed at 10 addresses in Ashton, Hyde and Werneth in Oldham on Thursday 4 March 2010.
