Man confronted by violent intruders

Date published: 01 March 2010

Two men burgled a house in Tameside.

At 9:15pm on Thursday 25 February 2010, the offenders used a crow bar to smash the back door of a house on Tatton Street, Stalybridge.

The owner of the house was home at the time and went downstairs to investigate what the noise was.

When he got into his kitchen, he felt an arm grab him by the neck.

Fortunately the victim managed to struggle free, ran upstairs and locked himself in the bathroom.

After some time, the victim assumed the offenders had left, but when he went downstairs, he was threatened.

They stole items of jewellery worth hundreds of pounds.

The main offender is described as around 27 years old, with a slim build and brown stubble on his face. He was wearing a dark hooded top.

Detective Constable Richard Stewart said: "These men have broken into a man's home and stolen his belongings.

"We, at Greater Manchester Police, will not accept this and are doing everything we can to catch them.

"If you have any information that you think could help, please get in touch."

  • Tisento Necklace, 18inch Shoelace Style with Diamond Loop with Grey Pearl
