Convoy of happiness on its way

Date published: 22 February 2010

Tameside Council Cabinet Deputies have donated money to the Convoy of Happiness which is a charity that provides special events for children with special needs, either physical or learning disabilities, or any type of life shortening illness.

For the past 7 years The Convoy of Happpiness have with the help of a local stretch limousine company from Sale and the Rising Moon bikers club taken over 160 children and their individual carers to Blackpool Pleasure Beach for a days outing.

The limousine company and bikers all give the service free of charge but they rely on help from the public with donations so that they can give every child a voucher for a meal and drinks when they arrive and the entrance fee to the venue. Chiquitos on the Moss also help with providing facilities and refreshments free of charge for the children and carers.
