Tameside Adult Services still the best in the country

Tameside Adult Services are still the best in the country according to independent inspectors.

The service has topped the table in the Care Quality Commission ratings with ratings of excellent across all seven inspection categories which is the highest score possible.

This builds on last year’s success when Tameside was the first council in the country to be judged to be excellent across all inspection categories, or domains.

The CQC measure Adult Services performance against seven domains and have judged all seven as excellent, making Tameside the only authority in the country to achieve the maximum score.

Cllr Brenda Warrington , Cabinet Deputy Personal and Community Services said: “This score is a reflection of the hard work carried out by our staff. For many years we have been among the top performing councils for Adult Services but now we have been judged as excellent and are the top performing service in the country.”

Stephanie Butterworth, Executive Director, Community Services, said: “This result reflects our focus on people who use our services and the dedication and passion that all our staff have in delivering an excellent service for all of these people. We are rightly very proud of our achievement.”
