Hyde Businesswoman to Head Chamber in Tameside

A Hyde businesswoman has been appointed as Tameside President of Greater Manchester Chamber.

Lynn Kerfoot of Newland Engineering takes over from Colin Foster of Universal Solutions 4 Business.

During Colin’s term of office the Chamber has gained wider representation with Tameside Council including an additional place on the Tameside Learning Partnership.

Colin was also one of the lead presenters at the regional heat of the Enterprising Britain Awards at which Tameside came second. The prize money of £15,000 being used to fund small business start-up grants.

He said: “We have built up a good relationship with the new Council Leader Kieran Quinn over the past few years through working on the development of Tameside Business Family.

“We also have a good relationship with the Business Family Team, including joint branding at events and an interest in combining future events for the benefit of both Chamber and Business Family members.

“The Chamber is also a member of the Digital Tameside Steering group; at the heart of Tameside’s digital policy framework.”

Lynn Kerfoot is a Director of Newland Engineering, which manufactures conveyors for businesses across the globe.

She said: “Colin has been a great ambassador for both the Chamber and Tameside in general.

“I’m looking forward to building on Colin’s achievements and getting more businesses involved with the Chamber in Tameside.”
