St Lawrence's Church
Tudor black and white timber church dated circa 1531 - with a possible origin in 1473 from Denton Hall or Hyde Hall. One of only 29 surviving timber framed churches and chapels in England. Burial place of Colonel Duckenfield - 'Roundhead' military leader, and John Angiers, a notable Puritan preacher who died in 1667. Features original beams with pegs and stained glass windows. Awarded two Blue Plaques, one dedicated to John Angiers.

Tours of Mossley Hall
An exclusive tour of Mossley Hall, the grandest mansion of any local Victoria mill owner. It is being carefully restored by the present owner who has kindly agreed to allow two tours on Saturday. Assemble at the Heritage Centre at 1330 for preliminary introduction or at Mossley Hall itself at either 1400 or 1500.

The heritage centre, housed in an 1871 cotton mill, captures the essential history of the textile industry and associated transport in Mossley. There are an increasing number of artefacts in a 'scullery corner'. Mossley Hollins School Brass Band will kick off HODS at 1100 on Thursday at Mossley Hall in the presence of the Mayor.
