Print this Event

A new stall at Ashton Market will give shoppers plenty of food for thought.

Tameside Council, working in conjunction with the Love Food Hate Waste campaign, will be running a series of cooking demonstrations to show people how they can make better use of the food they buy.

The market’s resident chef, Bernadette Bennet, will be cooking up quick and easy recipes using left-overs and food ‘past its best’ such as over-ripe fruit to inspire people to change their cooking habits to the benefit of both their finances and the environment.

Visitors will also be able to collect free recipe cards and traders will be handing out reusable bags and giving advice on how to prolong the life of their goods.

Free
